In June 2018, Body Love and Confidence Activist: Annie Wade Smith contacted me to do a photoshoot when she visited her brother in New York City. Annie also uses her social media platform for Intersectional Feminism, Equal Rights and Mental Health Activism. At that time I was not in New York so I couldn’t do the shoot with her, but I suggested that we still stay in contact as I visit New York City often and can schedule a photoshoot another time.
Coincidentally to my surprise I saw that Annie was in Trinidad for carnival, and decided to contact her to find out if she was still interested in having a photoshoot, once the time permitted. She accepted the offer and suggested a beach shoot which was only right, especially as she was in the Caribbean.
The location for the photoshoot was at Maracas Beach, which is a very popular beach on the north coast of Trinidad. I chose the fishing village as the area where we should do the photoshoot because, it’s less busier than the bay side. Also it gives a more tropical and relaxed feel and would make the images more interesting.
Below you would find some of the images we created at Maracas Beach. If you like what you see feel free to contact me to book a photoshoot. Hope you all enjoy.
